Kintsugi
Kintsugi is an art that resonates with my thoughts on the importance of seeking help and support when you are in a place of uncertainty, unease, or lost and why the reasons you sought this website could become a gift.
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery back pieces together with gold. It means ‘Golden repair’.
A metaphor for embracing flaws and imperfections, Kintsugi takes patience, awareness, acceptance and a desire to sit and work through the process in order that it be truly healing. The process of Kintsugi tenderly embraces the cracks and broken pieces and teaches us a valuable lesson that can be applied to your journey.
Broken and mended look very different and mended is often better than before, you may ask; are the cracks therefore a gift? What can be learned from the broken pieces?
I believe wholeheartedly that our journey in life including the broken parts, the cracks, and imperfections can become the gift that allows you to lead a full and enriched better life where you can become your authentic self again.
Kintsugi and its tender embrace of the cracks and broken pieces teach us that our ‘broken’ pieces, our journey, make us stronger and better than ever before.
