HOW WE WORK
elevate your mind. elevate your mood. empower your wardrobe.
By delving into the intricate interplay between our minds, the language we use and our behaviours, I provide you with practical, evidence-based tools to enhance your mental wellbeing and foster a positive mindset which will empower you on your journey of life.
In addition to this, utilising my knowledge of fashion, colour psychology and the profound impact that clothing can have on ones sense of self and confidence, I have created a space where fashion becomes a conduit for self-expression, inner peace and contentment.
This fusion of fashion and the mind forms the foundation of Mind Threads, where each piece of clothing that you create is a wearable toolkit designed to nurture your mental wellbeing and elevate your overall wellness.

Holistic approach
Utilising a holistic approach, we integrate many disciplines to create positive change. However, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) forms the foundation with which to create lasting change. NLP harnesses the power of language to break down any mental barriers that we unknowingly create for ourselves.
Neuro, meaning nerve, refers to the way we gather information from the outside world through our 5 senses.
Linguistic, is the study of language, referring to the way we make sense of the information that we have gathered by structuring it into language.
Programming, is how we interpret the world and how we then control and influence our daily actions, choices, and behaviours.
NLP teaches us that changing the way in which we perceive the world, can lead us to adjust and adapt our behaviours in order to live the life we want.
By altering the way different words and associations shape a person’s network of vocabularies, they can begin to change the way they think and perceive the world.
PLEASE NOTE: NLP is not counselling nor am I a psychiatrist. I am not qualified to diagnose PTSD, OCD, trauma and other mental health issues. I am a certified and insured NLP Practitioner, Life Coach and BLAST Therapist. Further, I (and any support staff) have an up to date DBS check and certification.

NLP is used to transform limited self beliefs, for the management of anxiety and stress, to manage fears and phobias, improve relationships, build self esteem, improve confidence and to improve communication skills –enhancing your ability to communicate, empathise and negotiate.
NLP is very much about exploring future possibilities and solutions, creating opportunities and widening perceptions rather than dwelling on the negatives.

Amongst other suppositions, NLP has some fundamental beliefs as explained below;
We each have an internal ‘map’ that is unique and marks out the journey of our lives. The idea of this map can be used to illustrate that we can only view our representation of the world.
i.e. if two people stand side by side, witnessing the same event, they will both have a different experience and interpretation of that event which will be on their unique map.
Each event we experience impacts the future in some way. Regardless of what happens to a person during their life, it is the way that they perceive the situation that affects the experience. It may be through beliefs, behaviours, reactions, or decisions that we make.
This can be used to understand why you may feel ‘stuck in a rut’, lost, or have low self-esteem. This may not be the clients choice but as a result of something that happened in their past e.g. a harsh rejection or personal loss may have left a mark on their map, preventing them from moving forwards.
Whilst we may question the value of this behaviour in the present, it is important to note that the positive worth of the individual is held constant and there is no shame nor blame for current behaviours.
By using and altering language, the boundaries of the map can be pushed and changed by reprogramming our internal control systems and subconscious mind allowing a person to take the first steps to make the change they want.
It is considered a useful and accessible tool in modern psychology and was developed in 1972 by John Grinder and Richard Bandler when studying human excellence.
